About Me
Deborah D. Thompson, MAOM, PCC
Greetings! I'm Deborah Thompson, an independent leadership coach and organizational consultant based in Albuquerque, New Mexico - although I work with clients around the world by video and in person. In a nutshell, I coach leaders, teams and boards who are ready to step into their full potential.
I have a deep background in organizational leadership and strategy. My career has spanned a range of industries from construction and publishing, to higher education and nonprofits.
Ultimately, I found my purpose working with with social impact causes. I was privileged to spend 14 years as a senior executive with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, where I oversaw chapter leadership, operations and mission delivery across the U.S. I've also served in operational, fundraising and governance roles in a range of community-based organizations dedicated to improving the human condition. I continue contributing to the work I love as a Coach, Consultant, Educator, Board Member, and Volunteer.
In 2019 I made the leap and started my own coaching and consulting business - and I've never looked back! Equipped with over 25 years of hands-on leadership experience and a bunch of formal training and certifications, I now work with executive coaching companies, businesses and nonprofit organizations, in addition to serving as a subject matter expert for Arizona State University's Lodestar Center in the areas of board governance and strategic planning. As time permits, I also take on a handful of private and pro bono coaching engagements each year.
Over many years of leading teams and organizations, I've learned that my superpower is quickly building trusting relationships, helping make sense of complex issues, clarifying objectives, and creating simple yet high impact solutions. I also believe in fostering human-centered cultures, and prioritizing well being. As a Coach and Consultant, I offer strategic insights, honest feedback, practical tools and advice, and a safe and confidential space for real, transformation to occur.
